Kowloon

Kowloon is one of the three major regions of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with an area of about 47 square kilometers. About 30% of the population of Hong Kong lives in Kowloon, and the population density is 48,900 people per square kilometer. A lot of land in Kowloon was obtained from reclamation, including the Kai Tak Airport, and the West Kowloon Reclamation Project expanded the area of Kowloon by one third.
The residential areas are mainly concentrated in Kowloon Central and Kowloon North, among which Kowloon Tong is the traditional luxury residential area, while the commercial area is mainly located in Tsim Sha Tsui near the Victoria Harbour. Most of the commercial buildings are concentrated in the east and west of Tsim Sha Tsui, while the industrial area is mainly in Kowloon East (Kwun Tong, Kowloon Bay, San Po Kong) and Kowloon West (Cheung Sha Wan, Lai Chi Kok), and with the "Energizing Kowloon East" plan, the government intends to speed up the transformation of Kowloon East into another Central Business District ( CBD2) to support the growth of Hong Kong’s economy. In addition to develop the former airport site into the “Kai Tak Development Area”, the government has also rezoned the industrial land in Kowloon Bay and Kwun Tong, allowing owners to convert their industrial buildings into commercial buildings, whereas measures to revitalize industrial buildings have been introduced at the same time. Under the promotion of various policies, Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay have also changed from industrial areas to commercial areas. There are many new-style commercial buildings in the area, the business atmosphere is strong, and the area has a new look.
In addition, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok are traditional shopping districts in Kowloon. Along the main thoroughfare of Nathan Road, there are various shops on both sides. Canton Road is also a concentration of famous brand stores and a shopping hotspot for tourists visiting Hong Kong
